Thanks for visiting.

Thanks for visiting. This blog is intended to share some ideas regarding mental and emotional growth, or as I like to call it: Emolvement. This may be the best way to survive the sheer amount of tangible growth ahead. We will be challenged in new ways. To emolve, we will need to use every tool at our disposal including: Self-hypnosis, Self-reflection, Visualization and learning to utilize your Unconscious Mind. We will have to dig deep, because the problematic behaviors are deeply imbedded. Even the examination of words and expressions will lead to the exposure of many that are simply wrong. Others expressions are just time wasting. But, they affect us all; without our conscious knowledge.

They are an example of the many Invisible walls that exist to prevent our growth. Most are imbedded in the cultural programming we are subjected to. Others are simple manufactured to maintain control. It's all about power. Many would argue that this just the human condition. I don't agree. The lack of intellectual growth could easily be the result of a self fulfilling prophecy. Once the Human Condition was accepted as fact, growth was assumed to be impossible by many. More recently, there have been attempts to explain the value of consciousness raising and meditation and some are taking action in order to grow. In response to this, I have created the word: Emolvement. Once a word exists, it can become something to be studied. It exists. As a result of this word, the potential for growth has become real. Words have to the power to be positive or negative and we need to know which is which.

I have taken an aspirational approach to this. I have to as I explore and map an unknown place to me. Since like attracts like, I have chosen benevolence as my north star and this hope outweighs the negative energy my positive energy will eventually attract.

For each of us, this journey is about mental exploration. I started it when I came to see that our mental growth and maturity hasn't matched our tangible growth (technology, etc) and the other challenges of our ever changing environment. As a species, we have endlessly tested our physical limits and mental endurance. Endurance in itself isn't growth, but now we can apply it for our growth instead of survival. It is necessary when individuals reach a higher level of consciousness (The ultimate form of growth) because it is uncomfortable at first; since the value of many things may change. Our historical responses to the challenges of living have demonstrated that incremental increases to our mental maturity and endurance are possible. Yet, at the same time, we have left our unconscious and its role in our lives  unexplored. We have no idea of its potential. Therefore, with regard to the unconscious mind, I will assume anything is possible and except no limitations, until I meet them for myself.  I like to think of this as an advancement in organic technology, which is non polluting and doesn't require as many natural resources.

Most people don't even know their unconscious mind exists. Some fear it and the rest of us are just too busy.  In addition, our goals are constantly changing. We change our minds so often that our unconscious mind becomes confused about what you really want. Once confused about the course you want it eventually just steps back and waits. When we are children, we have a relationship with this part of ourselves. Our unconscious creates invisible friends and helps to guide us away from danger. Once rules are introduced, the unconscious relinquishes it's influence. This relationship needs to be rebuilt. But, people are so busy that they don't have any time for self reflection, let alone take on new ideas like personal growth. Reflection allows us to be self correcting. Without reflection, we need more external controls like the police, courts and sometimes even firemen. We are not able to find the time to even take an unbiased look at ourselves. Therefore, we simply accept things that don't quite make sense, as we drive down our parkways to park in our driveways. As individuals, we simply don't have the time to question much, let alone to develop new mental skills. Society has us facing our limits of endurance, but is all this activity actually helping us to grow as individuals and as a society. Here, I would have to admit that most limits are beneficial to us. Speed limits are a simple example. But, when it comes to the way you think... why accept any?

Emolvement is different than evolution in several ways. Evolution is a series of improved physical adaptations to better interact with their environment in a way that improves survival. This usually happens when a superior mutation appears. Those genes and more likely to be passed on to future generations. Over generations, this advantageous trait often becomes the norm. Emolvement, however, is a conscious decision to change oneself, within a single lifetime. This is one way we can respond to today's rapidly changing environment. It might be the only way, in a world where facts are becoming negotiable.

I have personally changed the way I think in certain situations. To emolve, I spend time doing intentional meditation. This is also known as self-hypnosis and is a method to essentially reprogram yourself mentally, which can lead to changes behaviorally or possibly even physically. Initially, my goal was to try to eliminate some of my negative programs and replace them with "positive" ones; putting me back into the driver's seat. We all have them. They are patterns of behavior which are much like computer programs. Some of these programs seem innate, while others are learned from an early age. The deeper the program, the more difficult it is to change or remove and this might be disorienting and temporarily painful. The hallmark of these programs is that positive or negative they turn on, without any thought whatsoever.

In general meditation involves the repetition of a mantra in coordination with one's breathing. One only needs to meditate and then replace the mantra with a command. Meditation is an important tool and it's actually quite a simple thing to do. There are many types of meditation and for our purposes I recommend self-hypnosis for making changes. Instead of a mantra I will repeat something like..."I am strong" or I am compassionate. This method is probably one of the more aggressive forms of meditation, since it requires a lot of concentration to be effective. Other forms focus on relaxation. Mindfulness meditation focuses on nothing at all to achieve this purpose.

Through these method, we can program ourselves to be any kind of person that we want to be. In other words, we can enhance our personality by working on things like patience or listening more. Usually, when people learn about this, the first thing they want...is to become rich.  But tangible items are outside of the control of your mind. However, it is still possible to use this method to become rich. All anyone needs to do is to think of the traits that will make this possible. Improving one's perception, memory, even traits such as confidence will improve their chance for success. But, our obsession with money is the ultimate expression of our focus on tangibility as dictated by society and if you are fixated on it, you may remain stuck in the tangible world, where things are only what you see.

With our busy lives; it becomes harder to find spare time. Therefore, I often practice this while I drive or while waiting in line for brief periods. The meditation is easy. Keeping this goal in mind is hard, while we struggle to feed our families and keep them happy, healthy and safe, in the tangible world. Sometimes we must ask, "How important are certain activities'? I found that many of the things I did in my day to day life took much more time than they wee worth. I also discovered that it was difficult to just do nothing. I felt guilty as I took time out for some reflection and dare I say, even some daydreaming. Everyone else was busy. I began to over-clean and then to overthink my lack of activity. People urged me to be busy. I began to notice little things that I did that I could do without and I began to simplify. That gave more time for reflection and even a few thought experiments.

There is the constant call to all American's to buy things. All kinds of things. It's as if it's in the wind or the water.  We buy things which have only final use... as garbage. We love to buy things. Only later do we realize how much time we will spend maintaining or even moving that stuff around. Stuff piles up. Hoarding can easily be explained by our past. Until very recently it was advantageous to gather as much stuff as possible. It might be needed by you or someone in your circle. It isn't useful anymore but the practice continues. This contributes to the use of natural and unhealthy rates of hoarding. One day soon, we will run out of Stuff and hoarding will have value again.

Change takes a lot of time and determination. One day, I realized that I should stop saying, "I'm sorry," whenever I needed to acknowledge a small mistake or injury. I must have said it tens of thousands of times or more over the previous thirty years only to find that I had been inadvertently been putting myself down all of that time. We use that adjective for something in bad shape, like a "That's a sorry excuse." Or, we will say, "That's a sorry excuse for a person." I knew that wasn't a helpful thing to do and this was probably damaging to my own self-esteem through my unconscious. So, I decided to just say, "I apologize," instead. It took me over two years to implement that small change and I still backslide on occasion. All too often, a given word has particular kind of baggage attached to it already. It might  have many meanings, as well. This creates confusion and creates inefficiencies as well. Some are simply hurtful and diminish both parties although the victim can control his/her response. The action is over and the protagonist has already diminished himself. We have many words and expressions simply don't make sense. However, the worst are those expressions which harm us, while going unexamined. Ask a veteran with PTSD is he agrees with the expression, "Whatever kills you, makes you stronger." We blindly accept this as true. But is it? I imagine the expression helped people endure immeasurable hardships and had value in the past. But Today, it almost sounds like propaganda designed to make people work harder, possibly dangerously. We must add evaluation of our choice of words and the choices of others to the process of Evolvement.

I have also found Visualization to be a remarkable tool in my emolvement. Prayer was the first form of Visualization. In my case it has been essential for maintaining good health or slowing or even eliminating illnesses of many kinds. Obviously, this usually takes too long to be effective for cases of trauma, but it can be applied to the healing process. Simply put, visualization is the best method to speak to your unconscious mind. It uses images to try to reach you in dreams, so we can use images to communicate back to it. A good exercise is to imagine something like a movie screen and then project a red brick wall onto it. Then paint the wall white. It is harder that you think but it is a great way to enhance your visualization skills. Through visualization we can begin to establish a line of communication with that part of us and this can grow over time. If this is something new and it feels difficult, see Visualization to help you learn how. If you want to know more about treating health issues, also see Visualization for Self Healing for a more extensive explanation in this blog.

Thousands of years ago, we escaped the jungle. Not because of sharp teeth and claws, but because of our endurance (and the ability to sweat). Endurance is our superpower and given a choice, I would probably choose something else. But, that endurance allowed early humans to run down prey. One man could chase after a gazelle for twenty miles. The man could carry water and sweat to cool himself and the gazelle couldn't. The prey eventually got heat stroke and died. That additional protein helped our brains to grow and soon men were following tracks and had no need to see their prey. A lion hunts by smell and will walkover fresh tracks without a thought. As our brains grew further, we domesticated animals. No more running down animals on foot anymore. But, we still need that endurance. We even push ourselves to increase it. The whole of human history is filled of advancements due to our endurance. In the future, Emolvement could be our new super-power and we may need one! Once we begin to explore space, we might need more than endurance to communicate with other beings. We will need to be intelligent in every way possible: both consciously and unconsciously.

Just a reminder: Success brings pride and pride is the enemy of open-mindedness. Open-mindedness is required for growth and pride kills those caught by it as they begin to believe that they know all the answers. Eliminating pride will re-open the gateway to growth and the final step into positive levels such as neutrality: the gateway to joy.

I have tried to maintain a certain order, which has some continuity. I suggest you take a look at the index or just scroll through for specific subjects, such as Visualization for Self-Healing. Ideas come is spurts and often, they need to percolate. If you have any comments, suggestions or criticisms, feel free to them by clicking on the title in the index.

Why we need to Emolve

Why we need to Emolve

Our lives are changing at ever increasing rates. This is the apparently the price of progress. The establishment of the railroads is a good example. Cities and towns grew around them, while areas without them suffered. Equivalent changes occurred during every decade and now they appear yearly and even daily. The creation of the internet has had dramatic effect on our lives and it changes constantly. It has also contributed to the emergence of "alternative facts" effecting everyone. Then there is Climate Change will create even more changes. Economies first globalized, only to decouple. Wars start and going on. Governments are overthrown. In the United States, education levels keep dropping, while workers need more skills. Change is the only constant in life. Therefore, we will need to be more open-minded and adaptable than in the past. We need to take responsibility for our own situation in life. Sometimes, I try to think of ways to make the world a better place. I always end up with the same conclusion: I have a lot of work to do on myself, first. Most of us could probably say the same thing. Emolvement is simply an attempt to find ways to do improve one's self and through that; improve the lives of others. Growth and Happiness inspire people and through your example, others may follow. The more happiness on the planet the better. This is a course of benevolence.

Emolvement is the intentional evolution of the emotions and mind. This process includes Intentional Meditation and other proactive activities such as Visualization. It represent’s growth by self determination; instead of reacting to our environment, which we call Evolution. Now, we can create our own environment and change it at an even increasing rate. This is also creating new issues which may either help or hinder your efforts to Emolve.  These must be recognized and by understanding as many as we can: we will be more able to either avoid or take advantage of any situation.

Because of technology and the ever increasing pace of things, we now need to make changes during our lifetimes rather than taking generations to accomplish them. As a society, we have established techniques to accomplish adapt for hundreds of years, but we just haven't applied them. Now, we may need to utilize our mental skills and apply them, to avoid the upcoming bottlenecks regarding supply and demand for almost everything tangible on the planet. We are flooded with immense amounts of information, which often isn't verified or serves a particular interest that isn't for your benefit. Corporations and Governments seem to be becoming more opaque. In fact, we find less transparency in many of our interactions. This leads to increasing stress levels and threatens our internal sense of security. This isn't productive for society and it also creates unnecessary suffering in the individual.

Many believe that a whole generation of people; need to be destroyed for us to overcome all of the negatives in people today. This idea has been around as long as we have. The End of the world or the Apocalypse!!! This gives us an excuse for our shortcomings. Historically, we often leave our problems unaddressed; leaving them for the next generation to complete. In the case of climate change, this is unacceptable. Toxic and radioactive waste are abandoned. The streams, lakes, rivers and even the oceans have been used to dump our trash. The pace of life and low populations in the past allowed for this, since there was always a new river of lake... until recently. We are at the mercy of the power elite and their primary goal is maintaining control, so education levels are dropping. But, aren't these the people who are supposed to solve our problems in the future? This realization demands that we become mentally stronger and able to withstand this hypocrisy and control ourselves.
Today, Technology is simultaneously changing our environment as well as helping us to keep up, but it comes at the cost of human interaction. The conventional wisdom is that ninety percent of communication is non-verbal. We text and e-mail and lose out on the human elements, like body language or tone of voice. We are becoming more isolated from each other and as sad as that is; we will need to adapt to that, too.
Fortunately, many of our behaviors are learned and so they can be unlearned. Our wounds can be dressed and allowed to heal. Most of our mental programs actually come about as a result of reactions to the perceived environment and can be changed by adopting a different point of view. Others we just picked up, without conscious choice from our parents, friends or society itself. Ultimately we can change our behaviors. It is just a question of the amount of time and effort required. The first step is to identify them. This is a difficult ask. Confusing and suppressive elements are everywhere, even in music. I'm not speaking about the content specifically, but it's frequency. 432 Htz is the frequency of the Universe. But in 1933, Rockefeller and Goebbels changed the tuning of the A chord to 440 Htz. This change may have changed the effect of music itself. Many believe this change allows people to be more easily controlled. It might also cause irritability as well. Fluoride and Chlorine have been shown to be  "dumbing down" people by subtly lowering IQs. Vaping and GMOs are new, but they might show similar characteristics. We will need to identify more of these things before we can address these issues and then overcome them.
We fear change. We will repeat negative actions before we embrace new ones, even if the change is positive. Your Emolvement will help you find your center again and then to see your programs. Then you can decide which ones to keep and which to discard. Some wonder if they even exist. They do. The last time someone asked how you felt, did you answer truthfully? Few of us really do, we just drop in a program instead. Nine people out of ten will say fine, while only half really mean it. This is a very small program. The quest for money his an ever increasing appeal, driven by our envy. The consumer society constantly fuels envy leading to greed and other problematic behaviors. It cause people to try and control each other, which is incompatible with a functioning society. Many programs are for expediency; regardless of their form or effect. It is easier than learning patience or compassion and is much easier than actually thinking. The real issue for everyone to decide for themselves is this: Did you choose your programs and would you change any of them?
By recognizing the unconscious and practicing some meditation, you will have opened a doorway to your unconscious mind. It is defined as anything we do that isn't consciousness. This may seem insignificant, but recognize that the unconscious is very powerful.  It works for your benefit and it exists for your benefit. It will welcome your efforts to connect with it because this might possibly be the first time you will be open to it. Shake hands with it and decide on what you want to be. Once we are certain and consistently send well thought out messages to it, instead of the usual; ever changing goals. Your unconscious may have been dealing with half-measures for years, so it may be confused or simply sitting on the sidelines. We need to clear and repetitive messages to communicate clear desires. It will act when it is sure that you certain that you want the help. Through meditation and relaxation we are closer to sleep: the domain of the unconscious. This partial overlap allows us to communicate more efficiently with it and it might be the best time to meditate or visualize. (This is contrary to many who believe you need to be awake and sharp.)
These are numerous ideas to make your growth easier. We humans create ideas from the information we accumulate during our lives. I wouldn't expect a gardener to come up with the next rocket fuel, but knowledge about fertilizer might help, so we can never tell what information is useful until we have an imminent need. These ideas are meant to increase your database and help you create new ones for yourself. Please take whatever resonates with you and leave anything that doesn't resonate. Nothing here is perfect or immovable.
For myself, I have wondered if our need for growth is part of the Human Experience. I don't like the idea of the human condition, because it assumes that we will never grow. It's also used as an excuse for bad behavior. When I see the decreasing level of genuine human interaction, it makes me wonder if we are losing our most important trait. I personally think that our interactions...our humanity, is our true value in the Universe and we should recognize that. We are all made up the same stuff.

                                                          Meet Your Unconscious Mind

Karl Jung described the Unconscious as the source of anything that we do that isn't conscious. This would include our beating heart and the action of our lungs. It exists for our benefit and it speaks to us in images. After we are born, and before we associate words with things, we know everything by its shape or image. This is the language of the unconscious. It speaks to us in dreams and we can communicate with it in the same way.  When we are able to create images in our minds, we can speak to this powerful part of ourselves. This is why visualization works.

However as we grow, we begin to think in words to enhance our ability to communicate with others and our ability to use images diminishes. Then, we learn rules. Rules further suppress our unconscious, since it they repress it; making the connection even weaker. Later, we will see that with regard to your health, it can break the very rules of the medical establishment; illustrating why rules suppress it. We are further socialized and keeping our "invisible friends" is soon against the rules. By the time we enter school, most of us have lost mush of this connection. It exists for your benefit and yet we fear it. Probably as a result of having little or no knowledge of it. It will still try to communicate through what we call our intuition, but we find these messages confusing or they are simply misunderstood. In times of stress or danger, it might try to reach out to us, but we often, we don't understand it's message. We don't trust it because we don't know it well enough to understand what it is saying. For most of us, this connection is completely lost by our mid-teens.

Few have considered the benefit of reconnecting with this part of ourselves and as you are reading this, your unconscious is probably stirring just a bit after a long time on autopilot. This is a good time to acknowledge it by trying to communicate with it. To do that, we must use images.

The Unconscious Mind speaks in images. Dreams are a good example of this. Using images to communicate was done by the Egyptians and other early cultures. In fact by using videos, paintings or even drawings; two completely different cultures could communicate with each other. Images are a universal language. They only lack context to communicate whether it is a representation of the past, or is it showing us what is desired? If one had an infinite number of images and choose them carefully: it would be the equivalent to using metaphors, as substitutes for words. The amount of content conveyed would increase almost infinitely...eventually to telling an entire story in one image

This isn not about the Sub-conscious. This is a common mistake when this subject comes up. The sub-conscious relates to conscious acts in the past. There is so much more to the unconscious. Jung believed that it remembers everything we have ever done. It resides inside of the Human collective Unconscious; possibly providing us with information from others. "I was thinking of you, when you called," sort of thing. First described by Jung, this is how we are all connected. Each individual's unconscious mind contributes to the Human Collective Unconscious. When someone is born or someone dies, it changes ever so slightly.

The language of images is a wonderment. It suggests so many potentialities. Some get ideas that way. It has been documented that all too often an important idea is seen and implemented by several people simultaneously. So, how does that happen? A burst of images seems a doubtful proposition. But, this is unexplainable without there being a connection between the sender of the idea and the people who receive it. Does this idea travel through the collective unconscious to people, who are tuned into that subject, or is it sent directly? And most importantly, where did the original idea come from? Are these images from God or Angels or is it from another source? It might be that it is simply found as a result of the unconscious searching and finding it, assuming the individual was motivated enough. But, that still doesn't explain the simultaneousness appearance of the same idea on different continents. his has been documented beforeMany of these ideas came to different people living on different continents on the same day or week. More and more examples of this are found as we scour our written past. it's an interesting google, if you are unconvinced. Your consciousness may do just that only to leave the unconscious standing there... possibly awakening.

Where does creativity come from, or our "sense of knowing?" Our intuition and even "vibes" all originate in the Unconscious Mind. This sense can be improved and eventually realized through meditation and other mental exercises. But first, shake hans with it mentally and be open to it...again. If it really remembered everything you have ever done, wouldn't the ability to access that information be helpful? Your unconscious mind already does this and tries to communicate, but we don't have a shared language with the exception of images. But, they are without context and the message is sent to avail.

Your unconscious mind resides inside of the human collective unconscious, which resides in the unconscious mind of the Universe. It is possible that new ideas may be coming from the the Unconscious mind of the Universe. After all, we are a very young species and there is much we can learn in this way. We need to connect with our Unconscious Mind and send it exploring, even into the Universe itself. Did the Oracles of old worked in this way?

As a thought experiment, During some meditations, I asked my Unconscious to take my consciousness into the Human Collective Unconscious. There I saw a series of what looked like unopened submarine hatches stretching into infinity. Very few were open when I saw someone emerge from one. He ran and I followed him. I wasn't sure if I should be there, so I kept out of sight. (On adventures such as this politeness is a must). He went down a flight of stairs, which I took as him returning to his regular consciousness. But, when I reached the bottom of the stairs, a huge party was raging. I decided to leave, unsure of my status there. If you can manage to fully connect with your unconscious mind, anything might be possible. In the benevolent areas of the Universe: power requires responsibility. Therefore, intuitively feel like I have the responsibility of sharing what I find.

I believe this sense of knowing exists in the unconscious. But, this isn't to be confused with one's common sense. Our sense of knowing is helpful, but by no means certain with our current skill set. Our common sense is a hinderance. It is common: a set of mostly pre-adult prejudices and it is bold, certain and fixed: filled with stereotypes and unsupported judgements. So many people attribute their decisions to their common sense and I hope they are using the wrong words, instead of actually using it.

When we look at the word conscience, we see that it is so close in structure to the word conscious. But, it has a much different meaning. Is this part of some cosmic riddle? Our moral compass resides in the unconscious mind. So does our imagination, inspiration and possibly our connection to God. All through images. But why images? It might be that using words would confuse us. But. there seems to be a higher purpose in this method of communication: probably because of its universality.

Our emotions and our emotional memory also resides there. (see emotional memory).

When we look at the unconscious mind in this way, it seems odd that we have spent so little time studying it. We have defined the sub-conscious with derivates of our known consciousness. However, we have spent little time on the mysteries that lie within us, outside of that particular realm. Magic is found in the unconscious and we have done almost nothing in our society to learn about it. It is possible that others understand this and they are keeping quiet, but I am unaware of anything quite like this explanated.

I was fortunate enough to have kept my connection. I have even nurtured it and tried to break it open using drugs with some very costly and only questionable success. At the time, I did learn that walls could be broken, but not much more. However, as I look back on this effort; I now see that much of that was unnecessary. All I needed to do was to simply respect and value my unconscious mind and let it do its thing. I consciously try to listen for it. And then do the work (meditation is my priority).

Doing the work requires resolve as well. Dedication is important. It's almost like fighting an endless war. Society will work against your efforts with its rules and deadlines. Get over, dig under or scale that wall, any way you can. But, get past it. Society was built for the tangible world and stands between you and the intangible. Some walls take years to conquer. But, they are standing between you and your potential. The human body isn't where the next phase of growth lies: it's the mind.

Unfortunately, if you are able to read this and have followed all the rules to get here; chances are you'll need to reconnect first. If you have read this far, your unconscious is probably waking up, but unsure of the next move, since it rarely initiates...because of all of those walls built on a foundation of our tangible reality and nothing more. But, your consciousness can give it permission, to break out from the inside. Try to visualize shaking hands with it. Learn about it. When you have a problem, ask it for help.

Try and remember your dreams and keep a dream journal. This action will express interest, It isn't enough to open the hatch. For that, a dedicated effort to visualize and meditate is required for adults. Use self hypnosis to break the walls that have been built, so that you can navigate past the tangible world. Meditation is just self hypnosis by a newer name. Breathe in and ask, "I want to meet." Breathe out and finish, "My Unconscious Mind." That should get you started and try some thought experiments with your new partner. A partner that can go anywhere. This is probably the basis for the concept of remote viewing. We will know what its capable of... So, don't place any limitations on it. It won't interrupt unless it's important.

It takes time and if that's an issue. Meditate into sleep if possible. Be relaxed and be chill; the messages will be very weak and subtle at first. But, the connection will grow automatically after enough work, since you can ask it to do that. but remember the unconscious isn't good at walking or conversation, so keep everything in its proper place.

This is the start of your Emolvement! You will find more than walls; there are speed bumps and potholes in the road and in this blog, I will try and identify them. Usually the knowledge of their existence will help you to avoid them. A quick example is in the definitions found in language. Why do we park on driveways, so we can drive on parkways? This is the kind if tangible thinking that confused your unconscious in the fist place. It's functional because we know what they words actually refer to, but it makes no sense logically. These contradictions are everywhere. We call things what they aren't. We think that we don't deserve good things, but we want them; creating a weird conflict. It is the conflict between Pride and self esteem. In our tangible world, we have replaced self-esteem with pride. The two couldn't be more different, but the words are used interchangeably. This creates feelings of inadequacy in many people as we compete for things to keep up with the Jones. Psychopaths not withstanding. There is a catch 22 around every corner and I have to wonder if we have somehow created a trick bag for ourselves or if someone else did. We are in a trick bag. There is no doubt and this is the way out.

Warning: Growth can be painful as we rearrange priorities, etc. But it is temporary. The hardest part of growing is that others are not and once you see all of the detours and misdirections, it will be sad. So there is one more task. Help someone else grow and ask them to do the same. It might not change things right away, but over time...the future abounds.

                                                         Emotional Memory

When we are born, our brains are not completely developed and this must be completed outside of the womb. This so that we can pass through the limited birth canal. Elephants do this as well because of the size of their heads, while a horse's head is shaped much differently and they are born ready to go within hours.

One of the things we develop outside of the body is the Frontal lobe, which is responsible for memory. This makes sense since there is little need for memory at birth. The Frontal lobe completes its development after approximately two years and we be begin to amass memories.

However, this doesn't mean that trauma isn't remembered emotionally before the age of two. It is remembered emotionally. So is love and protection, or the lack thereof. For better or worse, this creates an emotional responses to situations, which are not remembered and therefore uncorrectable without knowledge of the individual's first two years of life.

If a child was abused in some way during that time, they might react violently to perceived abuse as an adult, without even knowing why they reacted in this way. Obviously, this is problematic and might represent the source of many psychological problems we see in adults. Each much be treated individually and some answers may lie in the unconscious. We may need to  give these people lots of therapy, or they might end up institutionalized which in 2020 America, sadly means prison.

I once knew a man who punched anyone in the face if they yawned. Everyone knew this, but me. until I yawned (fortunately, I was unharmed). But, I could tell he wanted to hit me. He just couldn't do it in my house. I was told of my infraction and I asked him why he did this. It didn't seem to be productive and now he had this weird reputation. He answered that he wasn't really sure, but he saw it as an insult, as if he was somehow boring. I explained to him that I wasn't bored, instead I yawned simply to get more oxygen to my brain; possibly so I could pay more attention to him. Once I explained the physiology of yawning, he stopped punching people, because he no longer saw yawning as an insult anymore. I think he was the victim of Proximal Abandonment in which the parents were present, but they generally ignored him at some point during his first two years. His punching was an attention seeking behavior meant to overcome the abandonment he probably experienced, but doesn't remember. I didn't see him much after that and I don't know if he adopted a different attention seeking behavior or not. But, he probably did.

The lack of attention given to children, especially at this tender age explains much of the attention seeking behavior we see today. We like attention and sometimes it reaches pathological levels. We have just endured four years of this from our leadership. Did this happen as a result of women joining the workforce? Impoverished parents working two jobs? Warehousing children in daycare? In Denmark, they just expanded parental leave to nine months for parents because of psychological considerations.

I can think of only one solution to this problem. That is to love, protect, and keep healthy all children until the age of two because on some level they will remember any shortcomings that occurred during that time, without actually consciously remembering them. If this were somehow achieved I believe we could cut mental health issues in half. Otherwise, we will have people in our society who react violently to triggers they themselves are unaware of.

This is a decision for the entire society to make and commit to. The rewards will be slow to see. But, when you are old this generation won't abandon you. if they are raised correctly. We understand this now as seen by the actions of the Danes. Therefore, inaction is inefficient and irresponsible. The Human Condition itself can be changed into the Human Experience by making changes such as this.

We only have to want to change it and do the work.

                                                        Justice Vs. Fairness

I have often wondered why people will sometimes sacrifice their lives for justice. Survival is a top priority and yet in some cases the need for justice overcomes even that. We even celebrate this. From the Hatfields and McCoys to the Civil War, which for some odd reason, still lingers. In these cases, justice has been used to explain the phenomenon. However to Emolve, we need to recognize that justice has moral components, which can change over time or be different ,within different groups. And yet, it happens everywhere. Therefore we need to think about using the word fairness to accurately explain this phenomenon.

In studies with primates, they exhibited a strong need for fairness. When unequal rewards are given for the same amount of work. The aggrieved individual became angry. In one study it took only one incidence of unfairness to completely undo the aggrieved party.

We are not primates, but we are both animals and we share similar DNA. Regardless, we humans do the same thing. It might not be as unrestrained or even acknowledged, but we remember and sometimes we seek revenge in order to level the playing field.

This trait has huge implications for the future, if income inequality continues to separate us. The public schools have been ravaged and the "American Dream" seems impossible to many. This seems unfair to many and this must be addressed to ensure the security of everyone because of this phenomenon.

The wealthy appear to be prepared to separate themselves from the rest of society; taking huge amounts of resources with them. They think this will provide them safety from climate change or another possible cataclysm and to some degree it will. At least on paper. They do this at their own peril. I don't envision them doing this so they can cook and clean for themselves and they will need workers of all kinds and those workers have family and friends. They may have strong relationships that are unseen, so I wish them luck; maintaining their power. The electricians and water providers will eventually be running these "paradises."

There would also be external threats from those willing to die for fairness.

To stabilize a society, fairness must be considered for even the most prepared. Unless they have a spaceship, people's need for fairness will undo their efforts. Its easy enough. Re-establish the "American Dream" as something available and feasible to all.

I wonder, how much does a person need?

Our Consciousness

                                                  Our Consciousness

I remember when I first discussed it with my friend, Doc. He had an incredible "sense of knowing." He described it as a golden egg and God could easily see it. But, if we soiled it, then it became harder for God to see. If we soiled it too much then it couldn't be seen at all. His thinking was clearly influenced by Christianity, but it suggested that the size was fixed.

I have often wondered if size of our consciousness is fixed or if it can grow? Even more staggering is asking, "What is it made of"? It was been suggested that when people die, they lose three ounces in weight. This would suggest that it has some mass. Can it grow through consciousness raising or are only more of it? Personally, I have had moments when it seemed to expand and I assumed it was flexible. However, it is impossible to know the answer to this. It really doesn't matter at this point, since we have a lot of unused space and in either case... the opportunity to improve ourselves.

If the size if one's consciousness is fixed then the process of consciousness raising would actually be about consciousness utilization. The notions about the amount of our brains that we use; suggests there is a lot more potential than we know. Expansion would be the mechanism responsible for consciousness raising and might be the preferred word.

Currently, consciousness raising has been the term used for elevating one's consciousness. The goal being  then joy or serenity and possibly enlightenment. (see levels of consciousness) In this process, the lowest points are shame and guilt. They produce nothing positive for the individual. In a few cases, guilt might motivate one to right the ship. But, this his uncommon. These are the most negative and then there is apathy, anger, etc; all of which are somewhat predictive of negativity. The wild card comes at the highest negative level: Pride. This is the highest of the negative levels, and the hardest to overcome; because it precludes the open mindedness necessary for further growth. Pride brings a false sense of certainty about all things. Pride could power the world and it is everywhere. We have even used it as a replacement for self esteem. This explains why so many people seem to be insecure on the  inside. Pride can be taken, while self esteem cannot.

Open mindedness represents the beginning of the positive levels; followed by rationality and eventually leading to serenity. This process goes hand in hand with Emolvement. Books are available about this and this is a wonderful opportunity for you to further engage with your unconscious by showing it the necessary determination and consistency it needs, to come forward. It will also give you more concepts to evaluate. If you are eating this, you almost certainly openminded.

However, all of the books I have seen stress benevolence. What if this process is tied to your belief system? If that is true then one might raise their consciousness by doing things we would consider to be bad. I hate to admit this might be true, based on their being some sort of balance in the Universe. However this doesn't seem to fit as negative or destructive behavior are self destructive. But, as humans here on Earth, the positive route is much preferred. A negative route would result in breaking our social contract and result in jail, or death. But again, it would all be dependent on the laws and social contracts on the residents; depending on their values and belief systems. Cannibalism was practiced in places where it corresponded to their beliefs and values. It might still exist in remote parts of the world, if there is such a thing anymore. One could be excused for wondering if cannibalism was practiced like a craft or even profession; perfecting the act could be consciousness raising.

The way we use our consciousness may impact our future lives, too. Beings with a lower consciousness are generally unable to change theirs. What can a cow or fish do to raise their consciousness? I doubt there is anything they can do since they usually have a simple program with a few sub routines for mating, evading danger and possibly even dying. Salmon do and many insects even eat their mates. In these cases, their unconscious mind only exists to keep the body running.

We see our pets dream and like horses, they might be able to expand their consciousness. Dolphins and elephants appear to be very intelligent and they might be able to raise theirs and possibly reincarnate into a human body or another body elsewhere in the Universe. But where is their opportunity? Dolphins (actually Porpoises) have saved humans from sharks and even drowning. There are many species who have inexplicably come to the aid of a human. But these opportunities are extremely rare for them. However, most agree the resulting incarnation is the result of your behavior. If we are like Doc's golden egg; we might not reincarnate at all, if we soil it too much to be seen.

I believe that there is consciousness in all things. It might be part of the mystery of "Dark" matter. Regardless, this creates a situation in which there are bits of unassigned or unimprinted consciousness. If one can expand the size of their consciousness, at some point it will attract this unimprinted consciousness and become self sustaining: even after death. Here since there is balance in the universe, giving may be consciousness increasing. It may explain the focus on giving and benevolence in all religious texts.

Most of the world believes in reincarnation, even Christianity suggests an afterlife. Where does your consciousness go? Wouldn't going to heaven be a type of reincarnation? The evidence is all around us. We only need to think in metaphors. Heaven and hell are like many of the ideas we find in old Religious texts. Once we recognize that they are speaking to us by using metaphors; we see that they are all speaking about reincarnation. After all, Heaven isn't really doable. I can't be in more than one and what if my parents, brother and a few friends want me in theirs? Even if somehow my mind went split screen, I would be overwhelmed. I just don't see it as a real possibility. I don't see 70 or so virgins waiting for each Viking who died in battle, either. But as metaphors they each tie in nicely with the idea of reincarnation. After all, how could your body exist anywhere, but in the ground.

As a metaphor, Hell might be either reincarnating at a lower size or possibly not at all. Paradise, Valhalla, and Heaven are all metaphors. But, they are derived from the truth. In addition, they all suggest that a rugged adherence to a specific belief system be rewarded by increasing the size of your consciousness. Therefore, in all cases, this suggests that acting for the greater good is positive for your long term future (next life). For those who act for the greater good, there is a karmic reward.

The human consciousness is somewhat malleable. It is connected to the unconscious mind, which can grow and is extremely underutilized. When we begin to utilize the unconscious mind; the resulting growth appears to be almost limitless. However, we must maintain our benevolence. Otherwise, we would destroy each other in a giant game of King of the Mountain. In this game the eventual winner always finds themself alone. Secondly, while these skills might be helpful in this lifetime; they might not be best for your future. As you grow, so does your responsibility to society and others. To do anything else would be to deny this gift and defy those ancient teachings and values, which sprang spontaneously in different parts of the world.

What is the role of the unconsciousness is this? This cannot be known, but it is participating if you have revived it enough. I feel confident in that. The unconscious mind is our new superpower and it only need to be activated.

I just had a meditation in which I had an idea about the makeup of consciousness itself. I see it as small molecules that exist everywhere. We just haven't discovered them. They even exist in the air, as un-imprinted consciousness. It is attracted to the DNA of all living things, animating them from the beginning of their existence. The amount of consciousness that goes into an organism is limited by the DNA, much like a lint roll as it can only pick up lint until the the unused space is covered. Because it exists everywhere, small amounts can be found in the soil and even rocks. I believe Jesus alluded to this phenomenon when he suggested that rocks could sing. I believe that when the rocks were formed many of these molecules were embedded. I also believe that they exist as a component of so called dark matter. This too is everywhere. It has been suggested that at the time of death, people lose approximately three ounces of weight. This would suggest that it has mass and is therefore something tangible. This bootstrap hypothesis would also explain that mysterious connection between us; especially those close to use. All too often, we think about someone and they suddenly call. Some even feel the death of others far away. I believe this information travels through the surrounding un-imprinted consciousness that exists around us. I also believe it travels at approximately the speed of sound since it goes through tangible  molecules.

Benevolence

                                                                Benevolence

I don't know if I picked this up as a value of if it's the way I was built. But, I try to practice it whenever possible. I don't steal and try not to lie. Lying is sometimes for the best, but the result is unknown: just as much as telling the truth. So, I prefer the truth even if it hurts to say or hear. That's me and I understand that there is no good or bad to it. As society leans into ever more competition; being benevolent isn't an easy strategy. Things will be taken and people will take my benevolence as weakness. Yet, I have rarely felt intimidated even with physical violence. I have always thought my focus on benevolence disarmed any threat and I've been in Shanty Towns in Jamaica and one twenty fifth street in

Yet, I have qualms about how much benevolence will exist after introducing Emolvement. It was designed to help individuals to grow and improve themselves. However, this process isn't tied to benevolence and social contracts and this is worrisome. Selfishness is something to be conquered and this could result in an increase in that trait. Other's who haven't emolved could be manipulated by those who have. Therefore, we will have to rely on the power of benevolence to continue.

Benevolence itself, is a trait we have adopted by mutual agreement. We don't put people who give their money away in jail; we name buildings after them. We have jails for the most malevolent. But, this OUR belief system. Eating other people is hugely stigmatized and would certainly be punished. A cannibal would find this system horrifying. He believes his brother will now live in him now that he has had a bite.

Benevolence has power. There is a sort of balance in these moral matters. These are a bit like the force in Star Wars movies. As the levels of benevolence wane, those who still practice it will be more powerful. Unfortunately this is wishful thinking. This dynamic only applies to balance in the universe and not on a planetary level.

It is useful when exploring different cultures, but that isn't definitive. It only seems prudent when interacting with an unknown culture.

The expression, "No good deed goes unpunished is one of the expressions that is clear and it is often true. I could percolate on the possible reasons for that for a long time. Using Occam's Razor, I could conclude that it is only the positive energy attracting the negative. Even that is unclear, since like attract's like; complicating even this simple conclusion.

When I first began to write about Emolvement as a casual concept. I was stepping back to evaluate the way we behave. I saw so much potential; drowning for no reason. Our confusion of language, racism and I could go on and on. If we only loved our brother as we loved ourselves. But we are too busy with our children, jobs and social obligations; we have no time for reflection.

Then, I had the strangest thought, I had an idea that I had almost wrangled out of my mind. At the time, I had been up for three days and hadn't eaten. It was time to go to sleep. But this idea seemed so important that I remember thinking that I might die if I didn't get it out before then. This idea seemed so important that I didn't even know what it was, but I was willing to risk my life for it. Then it came and I immediately wrote it down. Then a bolt of lightning struck outside of my window: knocking me to the floor. I ran to my bedroom and slid under my covers and soon fell asleep. It was simple, but I can't find any copies of it. fortunately I have the first half that I found embedded in another poem:

"Negative energy destroys its source. It must spread. It isn't self nurturing. Lock two people who dislike each other in a room; they will destroy each other. It is dependent on outside energy making it insecure. So, it comes on with all its fury. But if one is aware of this they will see no reason to fear. One can endure for themselves and also stop the infection of the larger population." The rest dealt with positive energy as being more like a steady stream that flows easily and without effort if you maintain positive energy.

This power is undefinable to me, but I know it exists. I understand some of the traits of the negative energy. I have learned to laugh when bad things happen, Otherwise I will attract more negative energy. Nothing makes negative energy more unhappy, when its actions result in laughter. If you reach the point of laughing, it will actually become funny and more laughter will follow.

I believe some of these energies could actually be conscious or have attractors. They may come from elsewhere in the Universe; possibly even from the unconscious mind or from some other dimension. There are probably so many different ways it can affect us that they cant be explained. But, both positive and negative exist.

Most religions depict some unnatural events and energies. I love the TV show: Ancient Aliens when they ask, "Will they come back." This show has been on for 15 years and they have shown remarkable proof that we were once visited and yet, they still ask. They have never considered that they never left. Be they intertimensolal beings or ???? Understanding of the universe is beyond your imagination's imagination and anything is possible.

I wish I knew more, but I have seen this dynamic at play for over 30 years and benevolence the source doesn't matter, since its unreachable. But, our actions have consequences beyond the obvious.

Our consciousness decisions eventually manifest themselves in our reincarnation. Even those with negative belief systems often become concerned about their fate as they near death; knowing that on some level it will affect their reincarnation or afterlife.

I imagine a culture in which this side of us is encouraged. It would create a new class of humans in which they might be telepathic and telekinetic. But, this might encourage selfishness at the expense of the greater good.

I have also imagined a far greater society of benevolence using some of these methods. To maintain social order, they spend entire lifetimes on planets full of disfunction, so that when they return, they have a vivivd memory of what could happen when the social good is ignored.

Everything here; the ides about good and bad are all relative and dependent on our environment and most importantly, our belief systems. Our belief systems determine what is good and bad on a societal level. Individuals usually choose to follow suit. Herds of animals have a high level of mirror neurons in their brains. This how they move in unison. Interestingly, humans have them also. not nearly as many as the herds, but we have them nonetheless. These combined with our connection with each other through the collective unconscious of your social contacts.
